    Job Title: Senior Architectural Wood Systems Designer
    Job Duties:
    • Architect complex architectural wood systems to include arches, radius pieces, stair case
    stringers and treads, balusters, newel posts, beam wraps and other interior and exterior
    wood components.
    • Design interior and exterior architectural wood components using wood design and Mill
    operations design concepts and principles.
    • Adhere to modern and European design (Euro design) of finish hardwoods for residential
    and commercial construction projects design techniques.
    • Prepare and read architectural and production drawings, blueprints, designs and
    calculations using AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and Leica laser
    measuring software and hardware.
    • Provide design assistance to Project Engineer of Record for the design of structural and
    aesthetic hardwood production and fabrication.
    • Prepare sales estimates and bid proposals.
    • Coordinate project development with wood fabricators, detailers, and customers.
    • Advise Junior Project Engineers, Technicians, and Construction and Operations
    personnel.
    • Determine project requirements, materials, design concepts, constraints, and pricing
    structure.
    • Manage, finalize and approve finish shop fabrication drawings for wood components.
    • Work with shop personnel to resolving fabricating, production, and construction issues.
    • Improve component technology and architectural wood products by conducting research
    and refining design and engineering processes.
    • Advise manufacturing team on production and quality control improvements.
    • Write technical design guides and articles.
    • Provide technical consultation to Sales and Marketing Department for marketing and
    advertising materials used for presentations and trade show events.
    Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Design. Foreign equivalent degree will be
    accepted.
    Experience Required: 3 years experience as Architectural Wood Designer.
    Skill set Requirements (Special Requirements):
     Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in modern and Euro design techniques
    of finish hardwoods.

     Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in the application of design concepts
    and principles as they relate to wood design and Mill operations.
     Demonstrable knowledge of and prior design experience with finish hardwoods and
    design for residential and commercial construction projects.
     Demonstrable knowledge and prior experience in preparation of architectural and
    production drawings, blueprints, designs and calculations.
     Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in determining project requirements,
    materials, design constraints, and pricing structure.
     Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in writing technical design guides and
    articles.
     Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in structural and aesthetic hardwood
    production and fabrication.
     Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop and
    Illustrator and Leica laser measuring software and hardware.
    Travel Requirements: Domestic – up to 2 trips monthly to jobsite locations for a maximum of
    3 days.
    Work Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
